When the CBS soap opera “The Bold and the Beaufiful” first came on the air, it received unfavorable criticism from some viewers. That criticism may have been justified at first, but as the program has progressed, it has shown remarkable improvement in both substance and performances, offering considerable suspense, excitement and surprises. Granted, I do no place it on the same level as my favorite soap, “As the World Turns,” which in my opinion is outstanding in every category. Nevertheless, “The Bold and the Beautiful” has all the components of a good daytime show.
