Share

In terms of employment, not all occupations are reaping the benefits of Orange County’s strong economy. Area workers in the mining industry, for instance, were 26.3% fewer in July than in the year-earlier month, according to data released by the state Employment Development Department. Other industries showing job declines were makers of apparel and other textile products, primary metal industries, electrical and electronic machines, transportation and public utilities, and finance, insurance and real estate. Overall, county employment grew 2.5% in July from the year-earlier month.
