September has arrived but TV viewers were still in the mood for reruns last week, ratings from the A.C. Nielsen Co. showed Wednesday. The highest-rated first-run program of the week was CBS’ Sunday night movie “Higher Ground,” starring John Denver. It was seen in about 11.8 million homes, compared to about 17 million for a rerun of top-ranked “A Different World” on NBC Thursday night. (A complete ratings list is on page 10.)

* The teaming of Perry King and Dorian Harewood as half-brothers in “Half ‘n’ Half” failed to attract many viewers on ABC Thursday night. It was seen in about 3.8 million homes.
