Defensive end Richard Dent and fullback Calvin Thomas of the Chicago Bears were suspended for 30 days Wednesday for violating provisions of the National Football League’s drug policy. Thomas reportedly failed a drug test, and Dent reportedly refused to submit to a test.

Club President Michael McCaskey would not confirm the reports.

The Bears said that Dent and Thomas will remain out of the Bears’ training facility until Oct. 7.
