Events in the news this week.
A new firearms training course that utilizes lasers is set to open Tuesday. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department facility includes structures that represent residences and a bank, service station, market, cocktail bar and fast food restaurant. Officers and role players, armed with regular duty firearms and shotguns that have been adapted with laser inserts, will wear a special vest that emits a sound when hit by a laser “shot.”
