From United Press International

Narcotics investigators today said they seized almost $6.7 million from a house in Walnut when they broke up a Colombian drug smuggling ring. The cash was the most ever confiscated in California and the largest ever made at one location in the country, police said.

Four Colombian nationals were arrested as a result of the investigation by West Covina police, the Sheriff’s Department and the federal Drug Enforcement Agency. The cash was confiscated June 1, but the information was not released because authorities did not want to jeopardize a continuing investigation.
