Police Seek Help in Identifying Man

Authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man shot to death Sept. 4 at the corner of Myrtle and Bristol streets in Santa Ana.

The victim was killed at about 8:50 that night by a single gunshot to the chest, according to Orange County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Lt. Richard J. Olson. The assailant or assailants remain at large, Olson said.

The victim was described as a male Latino, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds, with brown eyes and short bushy brown hair.

He was believed to have been 25 to 30 years old, and he was found wearing gray cotton slacks, beige dress socks, light blue boxer shorts and maroon leather loafers, size 6-7. Anyone with information that may help to identify the man is asked to contact either Orange County Deputy Coroner Dan Aikin at (714) 647-7400, or Santa Ana Police Department Investigator William Ehart at (714) 834-4211.
