Edward A. Anderson, a Yorba Linda resident and senior scientist at Hughes Aircraft Co. in El Segundo, was named winner of the annual “Suggester of the Year Award” by the National Assn. of Suggestion Systems.

Anderson’s winning suggestion provided significant time savings in the assembly of a communications satellite at Hughes and also helped reduce its weight, resulting in major cost savings during the launch.

During 1987, Anderson submitted 18 suggestions, of which nine were adopted, providing cost-saving improvements totaling nearly $22 million to his company’s Space and Communications Group.
