Irvine : New Elementary School Dedicated by District
The Irvine Unified School District dedicated a new elementary school Thursday afternoon with speeches, tours and a barbecue.
The $3.5-million, 18-classroom, high-tech Brywood School sits on a six-acre site adjoining a park at Bryan and Westwood avenues. The sprawling one-story structure features a low-pitched concrete shingle roof, picture windows and clapboard siding. Designed by Danielian Associates of Irvine, the school was constructed by RJW Construction Co. of Yorba Linda.
The new school will accommodate about 500 students. The district is among the fastest growing in the county and enrollment is expected to increase by more than 1,000 students this school year.
