Brady Assumes Treasury Post
Investment banker Nicholas F. Brady was sworn in today as the nation’s 68th Treasury secretary, pledging that his agency will “do its homework” to support President Reagan’s economic policies.
After taking the oath of office from retired Supreme Court Chief Justice Warren E. Burger, Brady told Reagan the Administration’s economic policies have meant “better lives for Americans.” Brady succeeds James A. Baker III, who left the Treasury Department last month to become chairman of George Bush’s presidential campaign.
