Advertised as an international beach competition, it was difficult to determine if Fox Channel 11’s “Oceanfest ‘88” was a fabricated event or a true competition which was very watered down by poor coverage. Expecting an event similar to the International Surf Festival in the South Bay, I was greatly disappointed. If this was a true sports competition overshadowed by hokey coverage, my condolences go out to the athletes.
