Pepsi-Cola Co.-West announced that it will spend $26 million to build a new bottling plant in Riverside that will employ about 300 people when it opens in April, 1990. The company has signed a letter of agreement to buy a 40-acre parcel in the Sycamore Canyon area, where the 200,000-square-foot plant will include manufacturing, warehouse and office space, president Chris Hallenbeck said. The plant will have a single bottling line that will produce about 1,600 cans per minute.
