Apparently Marlon Brando’s name can still move mountains of cash around the film industry. Witness the $65-million start-up production fund bestowed on Cinema Corp. of America, a joint venture between Trans World Entertainment chairmen Moshe Diamant and Eduard Sarlui and independent producer and Brando associate Elliott Kastner. Cinema Corp. will have offices in Los Angeles, New York and London, and former MCA senior vice president Raphael Etkes has been set as president of the company. The new company’s first feature is Brando’s script “Jericho,” in which the actor is slated to star.
