In a voice vote, the Senate approved granting Michael Wilding, the son of actress Elizabeth Taylor and her second husband, British actor Michael Wilding, relief from deportation proceedings courtesy of a private relief bill introduced by her sixth husband, Sen. John W. Warner (R-Va.). The bill would grant Wilding permanent residence in the United States by waiving immigration laws that bar aliens with drug convictions. Wilding, 34, was convicted of two counts of marijuana possession in Wales in 1974.
