American Found Slain

ISTANBUL, Turkey —
An American linguist working for Radio Free Europe was found stabbed in a park and died shortly after, police said today. Police said they found John Soper, 40, while patrolling a downtown park at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. They said they did not know of a motive for the slaying.
