With the first anniversary of the Oct. 1 Whittier earthquake approaching, the California Museum of Science and Industry in Exposition Park has expanded its popular earthquake exhibit.
Featuring a “shaking table” and hands-on computer programs, in addition to the earthquake simulator already in use at the exhibit, the expanded exhibit will explore how earthquakes happen, why some buildings suffer more damage than others and how to be prepared for a temblor. Call (213) 744-7400.
