A 34-year-old Westminster man was fatally injured Sunday night when he lost control of his motorcycle and struck an oncoming vehicle in the opposite lane.

The motorcyclist, Steven Geisbush, was riding west on Melanie Lane in Westminster, west of Springdale Street, when he lost control on a curve at 8:48 p.m. and struck an eastbound Ford Bronco, Police spokesman Tom Broderson said.

Geisbush, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from his motorcycle and struck a parked car. He was taken to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center, where he died about two hours later.
