A woman running to catch a bus was struck and killed by a cement truck Tuesday morning when she crossed the street against a red light, authorities said.

Silvina Ocampa, 31, suffered severe head injuries and crushed legs in the 7 a.m. accident and died about five hours later at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital, Lt. Bill Mamelli said.

The cement truck, driven by Donald Lasater, 29, of Rancho Cucamonga, was southbound on Beach Boulevard and passing through a green signal at Talbert Avenue when Ocampa rushed in front of him, police said.
