A hit man who shot three patrons of a Koreatown restaurant over a pay dispute, killing one and wounding the other two, was sentenced today to 40 years and four months to life in state prison.

Superior Court Judge Bernard Kamins imposed the sentence on Chunk Ka Ya, 29, who was convicted in May on one count of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder. A second hit man who pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the case, Pyung Tae Kang, 26, was sentenced in June to 27 years to life in state prison. Charges were dismissed in 1986 against a third alleged gunman in the incident.
