A vandal scarred John Lennon’s new star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, three days before its dedication. An unknown person scraped away part of the pictograph of a record and scrawled “I buried John” on the sidewalk. The attack on the former Beatle’s star on Vine Street in front of the Capitol Records building was noticed Tuesday by a guard at the building. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which runs the sidewalk stars program, said a new star would be in place in time for Friday’s dedication. Said Anna Martinez of the chamber: “It’s not that big a deal.”
