Duarte : Smoking Review Sought
The City Council has asked the Parks and Recreation Commission to hold hearings to review the city’s 6-year-old policy on smoking in public buildings.
Parks and Recreation Director Donna Georgino said Duarte’s policy prohibits smoking in park facilities and at the fitness and senior centers but allows smoking in the community center and City Hall. The commission advises the city on uses for public facilities. The city manager or a designate can ban smoking in any community facility, according to the policy. The first public hearing will be at the commission’s next meeting Oct. 10.
