Three infants were saved from a burning apartment building in Stockton when they were tossed from a second-story window into the waiting arms of a neighbor. The neighbor then had to coax the mother of two of the children to jump from the same window. Stockton firefighters credit the neighbor, Odell Espinoza, with saving their lives. “I finally said, ‘This is your last chance. Either jump now or get burned,’ ” Espinoza said. Erica Hagens, 19, suffered a fractured ankle and minor back injuries after jumping from the window. The three infants were unhurt.
