Rescue Boat Capsizes in India Flood; 22 Die

CHANDIGARH, India —
A rescue attempt in flood-swept northern India turned to tragedy when a boat capsized and drowned 22 people, police said Thursday.
Officers said that only four of the 26 people aboard the boat managed to swim to safety after Wednesday night’s accident near Jullunder in Punjab state.
