She Never Tutored Wife of Her Husband’s Rival
This is to correct an error made in the Sept. 13 article, “Introducing Seoul’s Peter Ueberroth.”
Randy Harvey mentions my husband, Dr. Ha Woo Lee, as a “rival” to Park Seh Jik, and, as proof of his closeness to former President Chun Doo Hwan, states that “his wife had tutored Chun’s wife in English.” In fact I only met the first lady once in a reception with hundreds of other people and I never tutored her in English.
This story, concocted several years ago by political rivals of my husband to embarrass him, seems to have a life of its own. I would appreciate it very much, however, if you would set the record straight.
