Fullerton Faces Another Top 20 Team: Wyoming

Share

Cal State Fullerton will meet a top-20 team for the second time this season when it plays Wyoming at noon today at War Memorial Stadium.

Wyoming (4-0) had not been ranked in almost 20 years, but it broke into both the Associated Press and United Press International polls at No. 18 this week.

Fullerton (2-2) lost to West Virginia, 45-10, in the second game of the season.

Wyoming Athletic Director Paul Roach is in his second season as coach after taking over the job vacated by Dennis Erickson. Roach, 60, had never been a college head coach and had not coached in any capacity for 7 years.

The Cowboys went 10-3 and won the Western Athletic Conference title in Roach’s first season and have a 13-game regular-season winning streak going into today’s game.
