0.1% Increase Reported in August New Home Sales

WASHINGTON — New homes sales rose 0.1% in August to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 713,000 as mortgage rates held steady, the Census Bureau said Friday.
The sluggish increase offset a 0.1% revised decline from June to July, the bureau said.
