Rainstorms and hail lashed Mediterranean coasts and central Spain on Saturday, killing six people, authorities said.

Spanish navy officials said two British men drowned when sudden high seas engulfed their yacht off the Mediterranean island of Majorca.

Rescue workers found the bodies of four people on highways outside the provincial capital of Malaga, 335 miles south of Madrid. They drowned when floodwaters swept them from their cars early Saturday, authorities said.
