The spiritual leader of the pro-Iranian Islamic fundamentalist group Hezbollah (Party of God) said the plight of foreign hostages held in Lebanon, including nine Americans, is approaching its end. Sheik Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah, head of the group believed behind the abduction of the foreigners, was quoted by a Lebanese Christian news agency as saying, “Since the hostages’ problem with its political dimensions and deadlines is being discussed by the (big) powers, this means that the hostage issue is nearing its end.”
