Joel Dickson, a University of California football player, was shot and wounded outside an on-campus bar where a dance was being held, campus police said. Dickson, 20, a defensive lineman from Vallejo, had gunshot wounds in the left arm and side. He was in stable condition in the hospital. Police had no suspects and no motive for the attack.
