Fruitful Gun Amnesty

LONDON —
Britons handed in at least 35,000 firearms and more than 1 million rounds of ammunition during a government amnesty last month, Home Secretary Douglas Hurd said Wednesday.
Hurd, visiting police headquarters at Scotland Yard, said, “It means there are now at least 35,000 less chances of a gun being stolen and used in crime.”
