1,700 ’88 Jettas Recalled by VW to Inspect Brakes

Volkswagen, United States is recalling 1,700 late 1988 Volkswagen Jetta models for inspection of the brake vacuum unit, which could separate under heavy braking application and suddenly diminish braking power, a company spokesman said. Volkswagen, United States is the marketing arm of the auto maker.
