Gorbachev Planning Visit to North Korea

MOSCOW — Soviet President Mikhail S. Gorbachev will pay an official visit to North Korea on a date to be set later, the official Tass news agency said Thursday.
Andrei A. Gromyko, who retired as Soviet president last weekend, had been due to travel to Pyongyang on Oct. 10 for a five-day visit. The plans were scrapped when Gorbachev succeeded Gromyko as president on Saturday.
