Shooting in Dallas and the Philippines. “Platoon’s” Oliver Stone directs, co-produces and co-writes this film based on Vietnam vet Ron Kovic’s book of the same name. Tom Cruise portrays Kovic, who detailed his Southeast Asian stint and subsequent return to a war divided U.S. as a paraplegic. Producers A. Kitman Ho and Stone. Screenwriters Stone and Kovic.

The Rachel Papers (Initial). Shooting in London. Dexter Fletcher, Ione Skye, Jonathan Pryce and James Spader star in an unconventional look at an engaging young man (D.F.) who sees the girl of his dreams (I.S.) and truly believes life will be perfect if he wins her love. Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (Paramount). Shooting in S. California. William (Captain Kirk) Shatner will take over directing chores from Leonard (Mr. Spock) Nimoy in this next trekker installment.
