Firefighter Golf Event Benefits Heart Assn.

MONTEBELLO — Nearly $13,000 was raised for the American Heart Assn. through the Firefighter Memorial Golf Tournament at the Montebello Golf Course. The donation is earmarked for research and education.
About 100 golfers from throughout Los Angeles County participated in the tournament, which was created to pay tribute to Los Angeles-area firefighters who suffered fatal heart attacks.
