First place honors were awarded equally to four singers at the Orange County district Metropolitan Opera auditions Saturday at Cal State Fullerton.

From a field of 16 singers, the four winners were:

--Soprano Anne-Marie Bosche, 29, from Long Beach, who sang arias from Leoncavallo’s “I Pagliacci” and Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro.”

--Soprano Miae Park Choi, 31, from Tustin, with arias from Gounod’s “Faust” and Puccini’s “Turandot.”

--Tenor Mark Garcia, 34, from Fullerton, singing arias from Verdi’s “Rigoletto,” Massenet’s “Manon” and Mozart’s “Die Zauberflote.”

--Baritone Hector Vasquez, 30, of Brea, with arias from Korngold’s “Die tote Stadt” and Thomas’ “Hamlet.”

Judges for the competition were Natalie Limonick, Herta Glaz and Armen Guzelimian.

Each winner received $400 and will move on to the Western regional finals, to be held Nov. 11 and 12 at USC.
