Local News in Brief : Costa Mesa : Woman Dies After Car Crashes Into Signal Pole
A woman was killed Sunday morning when she lost control of her car and rammed into a traffic signal pole, Costa Mesa police said.
The identity of the victim was withheld until police could notify her relatives.
Alone in her car, the woman suffered major head and chest injuries in the one-car accident, which took place at 9:05 a.m., police said. She was rushed by ambulance to the Fountain Valley Regional Hospital & Medical Center’s trauma center and declared dead at 10:06 a.m.
Police said the woman had been driving southbound on the Costa Mesa Freeway approaching 23rd Street.
