The West African nation of the Ivory Coast was rocked Sunday night by the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Sting and Peter Gabriel, as Amnesty International’s “Human Rights Now!” tour rolled into the capital city of Abidjan. Some 30,000 French-speaking West Africans filled a soccer stadium to hear Springsteen encourage the audience to speak up and “make governments tremble.” “Tonight the voice of Africa will sing,” Springsteen said in French.
