College Roundup : Irvine Women Tie, 0-0, in Soccer

UC Irvine and Cal Poly Pomona played to a 0-0 tie in a nonconference women’s soccer game at Irvine.

Pomona outshot UCI, 20-10. UCI goalie Alicia Miller had 15 saves, and Pomona’s Mara Bloom had 6. UCI is 4-9-3.

In women’s volleyball:

San Diego State 3, UC Irvine 1--UCI’s Kim Collins had 18 kills, and Kris Roberts added 14 in a losing effort at San Diego State. Irvine is 9-7, 2-6 in the Big West Conference. San Diego State is 17-3 and 7-1.

In men’s soccer:

Cal Lutheran 3, Southern California College 0--Peter Arreola, Mark Tietjen and Steve Dietrich scored to lead Cal Lutheran in a Golden State Athletic Conference match at SCC (5-9, 1-2 in the conference).
