Gannett Co.’s third-quarter net income advanced 7% from the year-ago period to $75.1 million. Operating revenue totaled $804.3 million, also up 7%. The Washington news and information company attributed the results to a 17% gain in ad revenue at its USA Today newspaper due to higher rates, acquisition of Gannett Transit, which boosted outdoor ad revenue, and higher broadcast and radio revenue.
