Arthur Brezae writes that the U.S. Navy has lost 100 F-14 fighter planes at $40 million each for a total loss of $40 billion (letter, Oct. 12).
If each F-14 did cost $40 million, the loss comes to $4 billion. But what’s $36 billion between letter writers, newspapers, readers and friends?
