The State : Gay Sues Over Sex Advances

Share

A homosexual cab driver in San Francisco filed a $1-million lawsuit against Yellow Cab, alleging he was fired for refusing to submit to the sexual advances of his male supervisor. It is one of only a few such cases on record, said attorney Paul Wotman, representing plaintiff Steve Hodge. The Superior Court suit alleged that while Hodge performed his work ably, he was harassed by his supervisor, Mark Gilpin. On an almost daily basis, Gilpin would make sexual innuendoes to Hodge, the suit said. Gilpin’s alleged sexual advances continued for almost five months. Hodge refused, at first politely, wanting not to jeopardize his job, and later, more vociferously, the suit said. When Gilpin finally realized that Hodge was not going to have sex with him, he fired Hodge, the suit said.
