Campbell Is Gone, and They’re Not Happy

I see where the Padres evaluated Dave Campbell’s work and decided they wanted to “go in a different direction.” The only direction they can go is downhill. In my opinion, Dave Campbell is superb, the best baseball announcer I’ve seen in more years than I care to admit. One of the real pleasures of listening to a Padre game has been his straight-forward, knowledgeable and unbiased commentary. It’s a shame he has been fired. I urge the Padres to reconsider. If they don’t, I wish Campbell the best in his future endeavors. He deserves it.
