San Diego
An inmate at the downtown San Diego County Jail apparently hanged himself early Sunday morning, the Sheriff’s Department reported.
The man, identified as Larry James, 38, a transient with no known address or relatives, was found hanging from a sheet that was tied to a shower curtain rod, a sheriff’s spokesman said.
James was discovered by another inmate at 4:45 a.m. Sunday and died an hour later in the emergency room at UC San Diego Medical Center.
