NBC Ratings Sag Along With A’s

Like Oakland, NBC is off to a slow start in the World Series. Overnight Nielsen television ratings for the first two games between the Athletics and Los Angeles Dodgers were lower than the average rating for last year’s Minnesota-St. Louis Series on ABC.

Game 1 on Saturday drew an average 21.8 rating in 16 major markets, including Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area. Game 2 on Sunday averaged a 23.8 in those markets. The Dodgers, who entered the Series as heavy underdogs, won both games. Last year’s Series averaged a 24 national rating.
