General Motors said its Saturn Corp. unit lost two of the original nine California dealers chosen to sell the upcoming Saturn auto, apparently because of the high cost of opening a Saturn dealership. Saturn spokeswoman Nannette Wiatr said the dealers, Joe MacPherson and Kenneth Nieman, canceled previously announced plans to sell the Saturn autos, which are to debut in 1990. Both dealers were based in Southern California. Dealers say GM is asking Saturn dealers to make initial outlays of $5 million to $7 million before the cars are even on the market.
