Security Pacific Names Several to High Posts

Security Pacific Corp. has named a new executive vice president and new chief economist for the bank holding concern and a new vice chairman at its major subsidiary--Security Pacific National Bank.

Frank P. Pekny, a former partner with Peat Marwick Main & Co., has been named to the new position of vice chairman and chief financial officer for the bank. Peter Lowe, who previously served as chief financial officer, remains executive vice president. Pekny, 45, specialized in servicing financial institution clients at Peat Marwick.

A Security Pacific spokeswoman said the bank has recently added new vice chairman positions as a “new level of responsibility” necessary to accommodate growth.

William L. Capps has been named executive vice president at Security Pacific Corp. and head of its new Central Services Group, which will coordinate a number of services for the parent company and its units. Capps, 45, previously was senior vice president and chief financial officer for Security Pacific Automation Co.

Additionally, Kathleen B. Cooper has been named to the new position of executive vice president and chief economist for the parent company. Cooper, 43, was previously senior vice president of the bank where she also remains chief economist.
