Shoot-Out on Texas Fair Midway Kills 1, Wounds 3

One person was killed and three wounded in a shoot-out on the packed midway of the Texas State Fair that sent thousands of people fleeing in panic, authorities said.

Dozens of bystanders were knocked down or trampled in the incident Friday night, officials said. One police officer was wounded in the shoot-out and two others were injured in related scuffles, officials said. The shooting followed a brawl between black and Latino fair-goers, police said.
