Spacecraft Suffered Little Damage From Flash Fire

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. —
Only a test battery, an electrical connector and an insulation blanket were damaged by a small flash fire in the Magellan Venus spacecraft here, NASA announced. A National Aeronautics and Space Administration official reiterated Friday that the Oct. 17 accident would have no impact on Magellan’s launch, scheduled for April aboard a space shuttle.
