Local News in Brief : Escaped Inmates Remain at Large

Share

Two inmates who escaped from Camp Kline, a minimum-security prison in the Angeles National Forest, remained at large Monday, authorities said.

The escaped inmates were not identified, but one was serving a sentence for burglary and the other was in prison for drunk driving and hit-and-run convictions, Sheriff’s Deputy David Galceran said. They apparently walked away from the camp on East Fork Road just east of Highway 39 above Azusa between 3 and 4:30 p.m. Sunday, he said.

Camp Kline is an extension of the Sierra Conservation Center in Tuolumne County near Jamestown.
