County Teen-Agers Favor Bush by a 66% Landslide

Share

George Bush was the landslide winner in a vote by juniors and seniors in presidential election polls conducted by High Life in conjunction with teachers at county high schools.

The Republican candidate received the nod from 66% of the 10,018 participating students at 27 responding high schools. Democratic candidate Michael S. Dukakis received 21% of the vote, and 13% of the voters were undecided.

These results compare remarkably to those in The Times Orange County Poll. Bush received 67% of that vote; Dukakis, 24%. The Times’ poll of 605 registered voters was conducted Oct. 20-22 through a random sampling of listed and unlisted telephone numbers.
